When Tom Jeff leaves the California beach with a degree in philosophy and a hunger for something different he has no idea of the adventure ahead of him. He drives East with no particular destination until his car breaks down in Pick Ky and is towed to Lee's Mechanic Shop. The characters he meets and the situations he encounters makes this a very compelling page turner. At times hilarious and at other times too sad for words, this book keeps a good pace from beginning to end. The characters are all well-developed and a bit on the quirky side and the author has a witty and concise style of writing that makes for a fun and a quick read. There are quite a few characters in the book and the author does a great job in keeping their voices and behaviors very distinct.
I love the title of this book. And Pick Ky certainly is a world far removed from the normal pace of society.
